Thomson (RCA) Marks Color Television's 50th Anniversary...
Thursday March 25, 2004
It is hard to believe that it was 50 years ago this week that color television was officially introduced in the U.S. The RCA CT-100 was a 15-inch "round tube" set that sold for $1,000, about the price today of some 30-inch HD-ready television sets. To celebrate this event, Thomson has introduced its new HD50LPW42 50-inch DLP Projection set with an integrated HDTV tuner, under the RCA banner, that represents the latest in projection television technology. For a further perspective on RCA's past achievements in advancing color television as well as an overview of its latest television products, check out the report from Widescreen Review.
