Comcast Adds HDTV Recorders To Service

Although high definition DVD recorders are still a year-or-so away, satellite and cable providers are beginning to offer its subscribers DVR service that allows recording of high definition television programs. A DVR basically operates like a VCR, but records onto a hard drive, rather than to tape or disc. Comcast is quielty adding this service option to its subscribers in the Sacramento, California area. Comcast has long range hopes to counteract its satellite TV competitors, who are are also offering similar service.
