Integra Launches Build-To-Order Program For Consumers
Thursday January 27, 2005
PC makers have been offering build-to-order computers to consumers quite successfully for several years now. However, when it comes to home theater products, consumers have to constantly weigh what features they desire against what is available on the shelf, making buying decisions a constant compromise. This is about to change, however, as Integra, makers of high end home theater components, is offering its customers a better way to buy: build-to-order. Utilizing plug and play cards, Integra can configure its DTR-10.5 A/V receiver or Integra Research RDC-7.1 A/V Controller for a variety of input/output and feature configurations. This program is expected to be especially well received by custom home theater installers, where flexibility is very important. If successful, the concept may filter down to mainstream consumers, who could order a custom AV receiver with the exact number and type of inputs and other features they need. For more details, check out Integra's two new build-to-order websites: integrahometheater.com and integraresearch.com.
