DirecTV Sees Opportunity In VOOM Demise

Seeing a definite marketing opportunity as a result of the plight of VOOM subscribers, who will no longer have satellite service after April 30, 2005, DirecTV is making an offer that it hopes will attract viewers that are currently VOOM customers. DirecTV's offer is this: Current VOOM subscribers are being offered a $200 rebate towards the purhase of HD-related DirecTV components, as well as a free 3-month subscription for an HD-programming package.
