Hotel TVs Get An HDTV Facelift

Sunday May 15, 2005
I don't know about you, but when I am on vacation or a business trip, I really don't spend much time in my hotel room, and I don't think of a hotel room as my favorite TV watching venue. However, that could change, as the days of the small 19-inch hotel TV may be over soon, at least with the Marriott hotel chain, which has announced that it is embarking on a program to outfit its higher-end hotel rooms with new flat panel LCD HDTVs. The new HDTVs will serve both as a means for television viewing, and have additional connectivity for multi-media and business applications. With continued price reductions for HDTVs, this concept will surely filter down to less expensive hotels. For additional details on Marriott's announcement, check out the press release posted by Yahoo Finance.
