Weighing in at almost 60lbs and with a cost of $4,000, Marantz is hoping that its new THX Ultra2 certified SR9600 Top-of-the-Line AV Receiver wins the ears and eyes of serious home theater enthusiasts. Features include: 7 high-current 140 watt amplifiers, 32-Bit Digital Sound Processing, two HDMI inputs, Composite and S-video to component video upconversion with Time Base Correction, iLink connectivity, HDCD decoding, extensive multi-zone options, two AM/FM tuners for simultaneous listening of different radio stations in different zones, and a touch screen LCD remote control featuring 2-way communication between the receiver and the user. In addition, the SR9600 is firmware upgradable via a built-in RS232 port. Whew! Is all this worth $4,000?
