Satellite TV Goes Portable

Tuesday September 27, 2005
Taking notice of the success of the iPOD, EchoStar (Dish Network) has decided to market a new portable video player, called Pocket Dish. Dish Network subscribers will be able to download a number of satellite pay-TV programs from a Dish Network Satellite Box to the Pocket Dish for viewing at a later time, while on the road, at the subscriber's convenience. The Pocket Dish will be offered with several LCD screen sizes from 2-to-7 inches, with the 7-inch model expected to sell for $599. For additional details on the Pocket Dish, check out the report from Rocky Mountain News.
