HD Super Bowl Endangered For Carolina Residents
Wednesday January 18, 2006
A turf-war over high definition TV is brewing in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sinclair Broadcasting, owners of the ABC affiliate in Greensboro, WXLV, is demanding that Time Warner Cable pay for the use of its HD signal feed to its subscribers, which Time Warner is refusing to acknowledge. As a result, if Sinclair and Time-Warner cannot come to terms soon, Greensboro residents may have to watch this year's Super Bowl in standard definition. This could make HDTV owners in the Greensboro really upset if it turns out that the Carolina Panthers make it to the Super Bowl. For more details, check out the report from the Greensboro News-Record.
