Torino Olympics in HDTV

Saturday February 11, 2006
NBC has gone all out with its coverage of the Torino Olympics by simulcasting its main Olympics schedule in both analog and HDTV. In addition, the Olympics also represents the most extensive use of 5.1 channel surround sound for a live event so far. The opening ceremonies and the background footage of the locations around Torino were just stunning, not to mention the incredible detail of the athletes themselves. For the next two weeks, it will be HDTV heaven. For more details, check out the complete schedule of NBC's HDTV Olympic coverage. In addition, for everything else you need to know about the Torino Games make a visit to About.com's Winter Olympics Site.
