Term Of The Week - Pixel

Wednesday March 8, 2006
A Pixel is a picture element. It is the single smallest point on a screen or chip surface that is used to construct a video image. Pixels are arranged in rows and columns in order to produce a complete image. A good analogy is that a pixel has a similar relationship in the structure of a video image as a living cell does in the structure of a biological life form. For more a more in-depth look at relationship of Pixels to video imaging, also check out my glossary entry for Pixel Density.
