Samsung Announces New Lower-Cost Set-top Box

Thursday August 10, 2006
Although many television viewers can access both SD and HDTV signals through cable or satellite, many consumers still need to access DTV and HDTV signals over-the-air, via an indoor or outdoor antenna. However, although HDTVs can easily display a high definition image, many sets do not have built-in over-the-air HDTV tuners. As a result, Samsung is introducing a new lower-cost HD set-top box, the DTB-H260F. Priced at $179, the DTB-H260F houses an HDTV tuner that can receive over-the-air broadcasts. For additional details on the DTB-H260F, check out the report from Broadcasting and Cable.
