Yamaha Announces New Line of HDMI-equipped AV Receivers with iPOD Compatibility

Thursday September 7, 2006
Yamaha has announced the introduction of its latest HDMI-equipped home theater receivers. The RX-V2700 and RX-V1700 feature both HDMI pass-through of 1080p signals and HDMI upconversion (to 1080i) of analog video siganls, iPOD connectivity via optional dock, and a built-in XM Satellite Radio tuner (subscription required).

In addition to the video connectivity and processing capabilities of the new units, the core audio performance necessary for a good home theater receiver has not been ignored. Both the RX-V2700 and RX-V1700 feature 7.1 Channel surround sound processing, high current power amps, low distortion, and multi-zone functioning. In addition, the RX-V2700 can also connect directly to a PC for music streaming via its Ethernet connection. The rated power output of the RX-V2700 is 140wpc x 7, while the RX-V1700 has a rated power output of 130wpc x 7.
