Sim2 Announces Availability of 1080p DLP Video Projector
Sim2, makers of an extensive line of video projectors, has introduced its first DLP video projector with 1080p native resolution - the HT3000.
At the heart of the HT3000 is a Texas Instruments 0.95-inch 1080p DarkChip3™® DMD chip, AlphaPath™ light engine, and 7-segment color wheel. The HT3000 also has full 10-bit video processing, Brilliant Color™ technology, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and can accept direct 1080p input sources.
The HT3000 also has two HDMI inputs, VGA, HD-Component, Composite, and S-Video inputs. In addition, RS-232 and IR input jacks are included to simplify integration with various types of installation requirements. Also, there are two 12V triggers that can be used to control motorized screens and other components.
Although its MSRP of $16,000 is out of reach for many consumers, it represents the continuing trend towards the availability 1080p capable video projectors. If you are considering a video projector in this price range and own, or are considering, the purchase of a Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD player, the Sim2 HT3000 may be worth a look.
