Microsoft Offers HD-DVD Add-On For Xbox360

Thursday October 5, 2006
In a bid to head off Sony's forthcoming Blu-ray equipped PS3 game console, Microsoft has countered with an external HD-DVD drive for its popular Xbox 360. The HD-DVD player add-on is priced at $199 and comes with the HD-DVD release of Peter Jackson's King Kong. If this unit works as advertised, gamers will be able to affordably upgrade to HD-DVD for much less than those that buy a standalone HD-DVD player. For additional info, specs, and photos of the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on, check out the Microsoft Xbox 360 HD-DVD player product page.
