EXTRA - Sony Delays Blu-ray Disc Player Introduction - Again!
Saturday October 21, 2006
While Toshiba is well on its way to introducing their second generation HD-DVD players, the Blu-ray format is still in the crawling stage, as most first generation Blu-ray players haven't even reached the market yet. To make matters worse, Sony has announced its third delay in releasing its first Blu-ray player. First, it was supposed to reach the market in August, then the release date was postponed to the last week in October, and now it has been posted on Sony's Website that the release date for the BDP-S1 Blu-ray Disc player has been pushed back to the first week in December. Currently, the only Blu-ray players on store shelves are the Samsung BD-P10000 and the just released Panasonic DMP-BD10.
