Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD Protection Code Hacks Flood Internet
Sunday May 6, 2007
They were touted as being unbreakable, but, as reported in my previous Blogs, Hacker Claims To Have Broken HD-DVD Codes, HD-DVD Movie Pirates Strike Again, and Blu-ray and HD-DVD Master Anti-Copy Code Hack Claim, hackers have successfully broken the security codes designed to protect Blu-ray Discs and HD-DVDs from being copied. In the latest point-counterpoint, hackers, and their supporters, have posted the actual text of the main protection code for the hi-def discs on both the internent and in other media, including T-shirts. The movie studios counterpoint has been to send cease-and-desist orders to websites on which the code has been posted, but it seems that the Studio's efforts are becoming futile.
