Klipsch Announces New High-End Loudspeakers
Klipsch, which is well-known for its excellent horn loudspeaker technology, brings both technological experience and modern styling to its new Palladium P-39F Floorstander loudspeakers. Priced at $15,000 a pair, these speakers may be out of reach for many consumers, but for high-end audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts, the P-39F may be a good option for main left and right floorstanding speakers.
Each speaker features a 3/4 Titanium Diaphram Tweeter with a frequency response of 3Khz to 30Khz, well beyond the range of human hearing. The tweeter is housed within a 3.5 inch tapered horn assembly. The Midrange section of the speaker is a 4.5 inch driver sealed within a Tractrix Horn assembly and delivers a 500Hz to 3Khz frequency response. The woofer assembly consists of three 9-inch aluminum cone drivers. There are also three side ports near the rear of the cabinet.
The P-39F comes in mirror images, so the ports are aiming in the correct direction when used as a matched pair in a two-channel stereo setup. According to Klipsch, additional Palladium models will be introduced at CES2008 that will complement the P-39F speakers for multi-channel home theater applications.
