Marantz To Show High-End Blu-ray Disc Player at CES
Friday January 4, 2008
Marantz has announced that it will step up to the plate at CES with its own Blu-ray Disc player, the BD8002. With a proposed list price of $2,099.99, this player won't be attracting any bargain hunters, but it is hoped that videophile crowd will be attracted to its high-end features, including HDMI 1.3 outputs, Silicon Optix REALTA video processing, and onboard decoding of the new advanced surround sound formats: Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio. In addition, the BD8002 is Profile 1.1 compliant, which allows for interactive content, such as Picture-in-Picture video commentary. For additional details available so far, check out the report from Audio/Video Revolution. Stay tuned for more Blu-ray and HD-DVD news from CES during and after the show this next week.
