FCC Fines Retailers and Manufacturers Over DTV Transition Regulations

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is on the prowl for violators of the DTV Transition program. As a result, the government regulatory agency has fined several major retailers, including Wal-Mart and Best Buy, for not providing adequate in-store notices regarding the DTV transition, as well as Syntax-Brillian, makers of Olevia televisions, for importing non-compliant televisions after a deadline that requires all televisions that include built-in tuners, to also include digital tuners.
