Netflix to Charge More For Blu-ray Disc Rentals

Claiming that Blu-ray Discs are more expensive to manufacture, purchase, and stock than standard DVDs, Netflix is going to increase what it currently charges its subscribers to rent the high-def discs. It is interesting to note that once again, the Blu-ray victory has had higher-cost consequences for consumers, as HD-DVDs were less expensive to manufacture than victorious Blu-ray.
