Mirage, well-known maker of loudspeakers, has introduced a new compact 5.1 channel speaker system that they claim will blow away listeners by its intense "WOW factor". What makes the MX system different than most speaker systems, is that it employs Mirage's trademark Omnipolar Technology. The result is that speakers can be made more compact and still produce the sound, and disperson, of a larger speakers.
In addition to the five compact Omnipolar satellite speakers, which are a mere 4.3-inches tall, the MX system also comes with Mirage's MM6 powered subwoofer, which houses a 6.5-inch driver, combined with two 6.5-inch passive radiators, all housed in an 8-inch cube. Despite its small size, the MM6 has a built-in 800 watt amplifier. The price of the entire system is listed at $1,200. Also, if you desire to add more speakers to accommodate a 7.1 channel setup, additional satellite speakers can be purchased for $150 each.
