DTV Converter Box Progam May Come Up Short
Saturday October 11, 2008
Although not the big news story as the current financial crisis, it looks like FCC Chairman, Kevin Martin, is now warning that the DTV Transition Converter Box Coupon Subsidy Program may not be able to distribute enough coupons to consumers that ask for them, due to an incorrect budget estimate on how many converter box coupons will really be needed to meet the demand. My suggestion: If you own an analog television and receive all or some of your TV programming via an over-the-air indoor or outdoor antenna, and you haven't sent in for your DTV Converter Box Coupon yet, do so ASAP. You might miss out on a $40 coupon to help defray the cost. To find out how this may affect consumers, check out the report from Broadcast and Cable.
