Studios Take Aggressive Steps to Broaden Blu-ray Appeal

However, the sci-fi and action movie audience is heavily dominated by males. With that in mind, movie studios, such as 20th Century Fox and MGM are making an effort to appeal to more women and families with a broad release schedule that includes dramas and romantic comedies. This might be because I’m male, but I think sci-fi and action movies will always be more successful in Blu-ray than dramas and girlie movies. Nothing beats seeing carnage in full 1080p in my Vintage home theater. But I fail to see the appeal in dramas and romantic comedies. When it comes down to it, who really cares if you can see the extra detail on the lead actress’s face as she is crying?
They need to lower prices on blu-ray discs to broaden appeal.
