A lot of "techie" terms get bounced around in advertisements to hype consumer electronics products. The latest case in point is the term "LED TV". However, there is no such thing in the consumer market as an "LED TV". All consumer-targeted TVs using LED technology are actually LCD TVs that merely employ LED backlighting. As a result, a regulatory body that monitors consumer adverstising in the UK has just told Samsung that they must re-word the advertisements for their current inaccurately promoted "LED TVs" so that the term "LED TV" is put in proper context.
