Onkyo has announced two new 7.1 channel home theater-in-a-box systems (HT-S8400, HT-S9400THX) and two new 5.1 channel systems (HT-S6400, HT-S7400) designed to give flexible options for the consumer by providing 3D and Audio Return Channel-enabled 130wpc receivers, 120-watt subwoofers, Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, Dolby Prologic IIz surround processing, and a trio of practical functions provided by Audyssey, including 2EQ room correction and speaker calibration, Dynamic EQ, and Dynamic Volume. In addition, HT-S7400, HT-S8400, and HT-S9400THX feature 1080p video upscaling utilizing Marvell QDEO processing, as well as a USB port for accessing audio from flash drives, and networking capability via Ethernet port, which allows for access to internet radio and additional music streaming from a network connected PC.
Taking it up another notch, the Onkyo HT-S9400THX adds THX-Certified audio processing and loudspeakers to insure consistent, quality, performance and that everything in the system is both electronically and acoustically matched.
The new Onkyo home theater systems are priced as follows, accompanied by a link to their respective official product pages: HT-S6400 ($699), HT-S7400 ($799), HT-S8400 ($899), HT-S9400THX ($1,099).
