New Study Reveals Blu-ray Growth Compensating For DVD Decline

Blu-ray continues to grow steadily and is starting to offset the continued decline in overall DVD sales. With Blu-ray players and discs continuing to come down in price (some as low as $99), Blu-ray is more accessible to a broader consumer base. Also, the fact that all Blu-ray Disc players play DVDs, purchasing a Blu-ray Disc player does not render previous DVD purchases obsolete.

In addition, Blu-ray is also holding up well against the increased popularity of internet streaming services, such as Netflix, due the increased numbers of Blu-ray Disc players that also offer internet streaming capability.
