The Annual CEDIA EXPO will be held in Sept 7th through the 10th. After two years in Atlanta, Georgia, this year's Expo will take place in CEDIA's headquarter city, Indianpolis, Indiana. Home theater installers, consumer electronics manufacturers, and journalists will gather to see current and soon-to-be released products, but also to see prototypes of future products. The CEDIA EXPO is organized by CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association), the largest trade organization for home theater installers, electronic home automation system contractors, and specialized consumer electronics manufacturers.
The CEDIA EXPO not only provides a look at new and upcoming Home Theater and Home Automation products, but also provides training and certification for home theater installers and related professionals, via classes and seminars, during its four day run.
This year's Expo will not only highlight high-end audio and video products, but there will be an increasing emphasis on system control and power managment via tools, such as downloadable apps, for both iPhone/iPad and Android phones, as well as content access and distribution using internet-streaming and media server products.
As your intrepid Home Theater Guide, I will be on-hand in Indianpolis to check out the latest products and other news from the 2011 CEDIA EXPO. Stay tuned for photos and follow-up reports during and after the show.
