Retailers are really happy with Black Friday this year, especially with the overwhelming crowds that took advantage of those midnight store openings. As a result, it looks like they are here to stay, as least for the foreseeable future.
On the home theater and consumer electronics front, 40% of purchases when to consumer electronics items, with the TVs and Blu-ray Disc players being the big winners. Sales of Blu-ray Disc players were up about 37 percent over last year.
