Sound bars are becoming increasingly popular with consumers as an affordable and no hassle way to get better sound from a TV without the added cost and hassle of a multi-speaker home theater system. To make the sound bar option even more attractive, Haier has announced its new SBEV40-SLIM 2.1 channel sound bar that is wide enough for large TVs with its 40-inch width, but only has a thickness of 1.1 inches. This is thinner than most LCD and Plasma TVs - which makes it easy to place above or below an LCD or Plasma TV without sticking out.
The SBEV40-SLIM features "Panoramic Virtual Surround Sound" that provides a wide sound field for a better movie listening experience than you can get from those built-in TV speakers, as well as EQ modes that tailor the texture of the sound for Movies, Music, and News.
The SBEV40-SLIM also features two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, so you can connect both a cable/satellite box and Blu-ray Disc player. The video signal then gets looped out via the HDMI output to your TV. Also included is a compact 80-watt 5-inch wireless thin profile subwoofer. The SBEV40-SLIM has a suggested price of $349.99.
