Acer isn't a name you normally associate with home theater, as it is mostly known for its PC-relatd products. However, it does have a line of multimedia projectors that are well received. Building on that experience, Acer has decided to introduce its own home theater projector, the H6500.
According to preliminary information, the H6500 is incorporates a 1080p native resolution DLP chip, supported by 2,100 ANSI lumens light output and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition, the H6500's lamp is rated run for 3,500 hours in standard mode, up to 5,000 hours in ECO mode, or even up to 6,000 in Extreme ECO mode.
The H6500 is designed to project images up to 300 inches in size. Another bonus is that the H6500 features wall color compensation that optimizes picture quality when projection on differing colored walls or screen surfaces, making this projector a good candidate for outdoor use where projection on a wall or garage door may be a part of the setup.
The ACER H6500 carries a price of $899, making it one of the least expensive 1080p video projectors.
