The main reason isn't that Apple couldn't make an advanced Smart TV with all their distinct bells-and-whistles, it is just with the likes of Sony, Panasonic, and others losing a lot of money in their TV divisions, and LG and Samsung poised to bring large screen OLED TVs to market, the competitive environment isn't so good right now for a new player, especially a high-end one, to enter such a crowded field, no matter how cutting edge the product might be.
