Sometimes, you don't need a fully-equipped home theater surround sound receiver. For some applications, a simple two-channel stereo receiver will do, and the Onkyo TX-8050 is one that may be just right for your stereo listening needs.

First off, the TX-8050 is rated at 80 wpc into 2 channels with a .08 THD (measured at half power from 20Hz to 20kHz) and provides and AM/FM Tuner, along with analog audio inputs for CD and phono, plus two-channel-enabled digital optical/coaxial audio inputs.

However, even though this is just a two-channel stereo receiver, the TX-8050 also provides some additional features normally only found on home theater receivers, including infrared input/output ports for custom installation requirements, both second zone and subwoofer preamp outputs, and A USB port for direct connection of iPods or flash drives.

In addition, an Ethernet port is provided for internet radio and music streaming access, as well as access to audio content from DLNA compatible devices.

You can even take advantage of the Onkyo Remote 2 App for iPhone, Android, and Kindle Fire. If you prefer two-channel stereo over surround sound, or need a flexible stereo receiver for a alternate room audio setup, definitely check out the Onkyo TX-8050 as a possible choice.

NOTE: Since the main emphasis of the TX-8050 is stereo audio, only composite input/output connections are provided for video.
