Day After Christmas Store Hours and Shopping Strategy - 2012

I hope you are all having (or have had) a great Christmas and Holiday Season. For those that received home theater and gadget gifts, I also hope you either got what you wanted or were pleasantly surprised.

However, if you have found that the gift you gave or received wasn't what you wanted or needed, you have found that the gift you did receive needs some additional accessories to get it going, or you received a gift card and want to cash it in for a new TV, Blu-ray Disc player, or other desired gadget, then its time to gear up for the Day After Christmas and Clearance Sales rush.

To get you started, below is a listing of Day After Christmas store hours for retailers that sell consumer electronics and home theater products. However, keep in mind that there could be some variation in store opening and closing hours for some locations, so also keep a lookout for additional Ads or check the information for your local store location.

Day After Christmas Store Hours - December 26, 2012

Best Buy: 8 AM to 10 PM.

Bj's Wholesale: 9 AM - 10 PM

Costco: 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM

Fry's Electronics: 7 AM to 9 PM

hhgregg: 9 AM to 10 PM

Kmart: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Meijer: 6 AM (24hours 364 days a year)

Radio Shack: 7 AM to 10 PM.

Sam's Club: 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM (Business and Plus Members) - (Regular Members) 10 AM to 8:30 PM

Sears: 7 AM to 11 PM

Shopko: 7 AM to 9 PM

Sony Store: 10 AM to 9 PM

Target: 7 AM to 11 PM

Walmart: 5 AM to 10 PM

Also, while most of the store activity will be centered around customer gift returns and exchanges, some retailers may be offering door buster or other sales promotions on new products.

If you are heading out on the Day After Christmas to return a gift or look for a great deal, one strategy to might be to take few minutes and observe what is coming back to the return desk. As products come back, even if unopened, store personnel may still open the box to inspect it in order to make sure the product is as labeled.

Depending on store logistics, the product may be re-priced and sent back out for sale in short order - which means that you may be able to get a discount on it just for taking the time to wait a little.
