In an earlier post, I reported that although CNET wanted to award Dish the 2013 CES "Best of Show" Award for adding both Sling and Auto-Hop Ad-Skipping features to its Hopper HD-DVR product line, it was overruled by its parent company CBS due to a pending legal dispute in which CBS (and several other TV networks) are suing Dish over its Auto-Hop feature. As are result the top award was given to the Razer Edge gaming tablet.

With Dish crying foul, the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) has decided to overrule the final CNET decision and officially award the 2013 CES Best of Show Award to both Dish and Razer.

In addition, in order to avoid any possible interference that would put doubts on the objectivity of the Awards, the CEA is now seeking a new partner to host and present the Best of Show Awards for the next CES, which be held from January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For further details on this story, read the reports from the CEA, CES, and CNET, as well as an official statement from Dish.
