On the heels of its earlier announcement of three new home theater receivers, Onkyo is also unveiling its first new home theater-in-a-box system for 2013.
The HT-S5600 is a 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package that consists of the HT-R592 receiver, compact 2-way bass reflex designed center and front speakers, acoustic suspension designed surround and surround back speakers, combined with an 10-inch bass reflex down-firing subwoofer.
The HT-S5600 provides HDMI inputs, 3D pass-through, and Audio Return Channel, and Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio decoding. A USB port is also provided for accessing music files from iPods, iPhones, or USB flash drives.
For added flexibility, the receiver in this system also provides both powered and preamp line-out Zone 2 operation. NOTE: You cannot run the powered Zone 2 output option and 7.1 channel main system operation at the same time.
In addition, the HT-S5600 incorporates Dolby Prologic IIz surround processing, and a trio of practical functions provided by Audyssey, including 2EQ room correction and speaker calibration, Dynamic EQ, and Dynamic Volume.
The Onkyo HT-S5600 carries a price of $599 (available in April). For additional details, check out the Official HT-S5600 product page. Photo © Onkyo USA.
