The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 is one such player that provides a lot of bang for the buck. First off, this unit is slim and stylish, so it can both fit in narrow spaces and it isn't ugly to look at.
At its core, the DMP-BDT230 provides 2D and 3D playback of Blu-ray Discs, 2D to 3D conversion, and 1080p upscaling of standard DVDs via HDMI output. By the way, the DMP-BDT230 also plays standard music CDs.
In addition to spinning discs, the DMP-BDT230 provides both Ethernet and built-in WiFi for easy connection to the internet for accessing audio/video streaming content, such as CinemaNow, Netflix, Pandora, Vudu, and more.
Also, built-in Ethernet and WiFi also provide access to content stored on a network-connected PC, NAS drive, or media server. Other access options are also provided, such as Miracast, which provides wireless streaming directly from compatible smartphones and tablets, and both an SD Card Slot and USB port are provided for access to digital media content via SD cards and USB flash drives.
However, it is important to note that the only video connection provided is HDMI - There are no component or analog video outputs. Also, there are no analog audio outputs - just digital optical and the HDMI (video/audio) connection.
