High-end audio component maker Meridian was on had at CES. Above, they present their committment to DVD-Audio by displaying a wall of DVD-Audio releases that are currently available. Also pictured are some very colorfully designed loudspeakers (they also sound great!).
One of the suprising products at CES was the Sensio 3D processor, which was awarded a Design and Engineering Showcase Award. Simply put, with this processor, LCD 3D glasses, and a video projector, the user can watch DVDs in full 3D. The DVDs are also marketed by Sensio, which has the rights to many of the early 50's 3D movies and all of the IMAX 3D movies. Price of the processor and two sets of glasses is about $3,000.

Italian video projector maker, Seleco was on hand with their lastest generation Sim2 DLP video projector, the HT300plus, featuring the new Texas Instruments new HD DMD chip, which allows for a higher contrast picture than earlier chips. In addition, the HT300plus is perfect for the high definition viewing, with its 720p native resolution.

Although THX doesn't make specific products for the consumer market, its certification program is widely known in the industry for setting standards for the optimum performance of AV components. Manufacturers can send their products to be evaluated and certified by THX as meeting specific performance standards in the environment they are intended to be used in.
Independent loudspeaker maker, Wraith was on hand to demonstrate their unique loudspeakers, which consisted of flat metal grills. There are no drivers, no ribbons, no horns, no midrange, no tweeter, nothing that would indicate that these speakers should even work. However, not only they work, but since there are no moving parts, there is no sign of any distortion at any listening level (unless it comes from the source).

This is not a photo of the metal grates you see on sidewalks or large airconditioning filters, but are Wraith's version of the subwoofer. This is definitely not your traditional subwoofer.
