CES is definitely the place to see new innovations, and this year's offerings certainly delivered. Several manufacturers displayed production prototypes of both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD recorders and players. Above, Toshiba displayed its HD-DVD recorder and player, which garnered a lot of attention. True high definition DVD is just around the corner. You can bet that high-definition DVD production units will be in full bloom by next year's CES.

Also gathering large crowds was VOOM, the first all-HDTV satellite service. It will be seen if this upstart can hold its own against DirecTV and DishNetwork.

Here is a product that attracted my attention; the Trapezia Multi-Screen Computer. This product combines a computer with an entire multi-media center.

Hy-Tek displayed its innovative 30 and 37-inch LCD Flat Panel/P4 Computer combinations. Basically, they are flat panel televisions with full-blown built-in Pentium 4 computers. They come included with wireless keyboard, mouse, and remote control. These units are perfect for the office that needs a large computer display, or for the apartment dweller with limited space for both a large TV and computer setup.

Most chairs are designed for comfort and relaxation, but beware of this one! This chair is made by Clark Synthesis, makers of the Tactile Transducer. Once you hook up this chair to your home theater system, you will not only hear the pounding soundtracks in DVDs, but you will also feel them. If you like to experience the most out of your bass, this is the chair for you!

Buttkicker was also on hand to display their latest innovative bass shaker products.
