ARTICLE SPOTLIGHT
Top Picks: Budget Mini/Micro Audio Systems
Want big sound but have little space and a small budget? Check out some of my favorite budget mini-audio systems. Athough not as powerful as a standard audio system, these units provide great sound for their small size and are perfect for the office, bedroom, kitchen, or dorm.

PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Philips 42FD9932 Plasma TV
Plasma TVs are definitely not "cheap", but here is a real bargain for a 42-inch 16x9 Plasma screen monitor. The only catch is that it is not HDTV upgradable.

FROM THE HOME THEATER FORUM
Buying HDTV
From GARRUP:
I'm getting ready to buy a new 47-53" HDTV. Since I don't want to patch out the audio to a home stereo system, I'm especially looking for good audio components (no 2 x 10w speakers!), but at a mid-level price. Are separate tweeters a good idea? All the video specs are pretty much Greek to me yet. Any prompts as to what works & what's a waste of money? How about multiple aspect ratio's? My major use of this TV will be for both DVD and VCR movies.

FROM THE MAILBOX
From John:
Will I be able to use my DVR with a HDTV set top box? Right now I run everything from my satellite box to the DVR, then to the TV. Thank you for your time.
From Your Guide:
As of now, DVRs are not capabable of recording HDTV quality video -- the hard drive space required to store even one hour of HD quality video several times more than current video storage requirements -- anything you record on a DVR will be standard resolution -- similar to DVD or S-video quality.

FINAL WORDS

Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses. If you encounter any broken links in my articles or listings, just bring it to my attention so I can correct the address or delete it from the site if it has expired and can no longer be accessed.

Lastly, I would like your feedback on this Weekly Site Update Page. If you have any comments, either positve or negative, just let me know.
