Buying A Television - What You Need To Know
We all know how to buy a television. Just open the newspaper, find the best price and go get one. In my days as a salesperson, I have seen this a lot; a customer comes in to the store, AD in hand, and says "wrap it up". However, the best price may not be the "best deal". Here are some buying tips that are often times overlooked, but very important in the purchase of a Television, whether it be a 20-inch tube set, large screen projection TV, or the latest high definition Plasma Television.

Two-Channel Stereo Audio
From KBUTH:
Hi-- I would like some suggestions on buying a 2-channel receiver. I am looking for a high power older unit. I would like some opinions on a make and model that is around 100 wpc. If anyone knows of anywhere on the web where there are any ratings posted, I would appreciate some on posting them. Thanks for any help you can give me.

FROM THE MAILBOX
From B:
I would like to buy a dvd recorder that will accept digital photos (using the slide show mode). What machines will allow me to do this? I have a Canon Powershot G3.
From Your Guide:
There is no DVD recorder that can be connected directly to a digital still camera's USB port as they do not have the drivers to recognize a specific brand or model camera, like a PC can.
However, if you want to download your images from your digital camera using the camera's slide show mode -- you can connect your camera to the DVD recorder via the camera's Audio/Video connector -- but the image resolution output in this mode is lower.
Your other option is that some DVD recorders have PC card slots or a USB port for the connection of a Card Reader to the DVD recorder so you can download your photos and record them to DVD - but you won't be able to access the slide show mode.
