LaserDisc Dilemma
With the dominance of DVD, LaserDisc has fallen by the wayside. However, some still have LaserDisc collections that will be unplayable as production of new LaserDisc players is coming to an end. Ironically, DVD may just end up saving the LaserDisc legacy.

Pioneer VSX-C300 System Questions
From SOLIDAGO2:
I've decided to go with the Pioneer VSX-C300 because it is the only receiver I've seen that is less than 5 inches thick.

FROM THE MAILBOX
From Michael:
Some years ago I bought a combo VCR that accepted 8mm tapes in one head and VHS tapes in the other head.I simply recorded onto the 8mm tape with my 8mm camcorder, slipped the 8mm tape into the 8mm head on the VCR, put a blank VHS tape into the other head on the VCR, pressed a single "quick transfer" button, and I had a VHS tape copy of my 8mm recording.Do you have any idea where I can find such a VCR machine now?
From Your Guide:
I am very familiar with those units -- they were made mostly by GoVideo and Goldstar -- no such units are being produced for the consumer market at the current time, however.
