Home Theater System Using KEF 104's
From MLSNIX:
I'm looking for some help. I'm in the process of remodeling my family room and would like to incorporate a home theater system. Currently, I have Yamaha preamp/amp (M40) and a pair of KEF 104s. I'm trying to figure out if:
a) Should I add additional KEF surrounds & center spks to ensure "like" sound? The KEFs are 4ohm with sensitivity of 92dB.
b) If not, are there other like speakers I should consider?
c) The next issue is the power source. Should I consider a "all-in-one" receiver such as the Denon 5803 or should I buy a lower cost receiver and feed the L & R front spks through the M40 amp?
Any other ideas or suggestions?

RIP: Floppy Drives
Are floppy drives finally ready for the junk heap? With CDRs, Zip Drives, and USB flash drives having the ability to store huge amounts of data, the low-capacity floppy disk may have outlived its usefulness. About Computer Hardware Guide, Mark Kyrnin, has the real scoop.
FROM THE MAILBOX
From Tracy:
...should I hook up my Proscan DVD player to my reciver then to my TV or straight to my TV? Will I get a cleaner picture either way?
From Your Guide:
The best option would be to hookup up the DVD player's video connection to the TV directly using S-video or component video cables and hookup the audio connection to the AV receiver. If you have an AV receiver that has a digital optical audio connection that would be best -- but if not, you can also use the analog L/R audio connections from the DVD player to the receiver. However, you will only be able access Pro-logic surround and not the DTS or Dolby Digital sound from the DVD player using the analog audio connections.

A Special Reminder: Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses. If you encounter any broken links in my articles or listings, just bring it to my attention so I can correct the address or delete it from the site if it has expired and can no longer be accessed.
