FROM THE HOME THEATER FORUM
DVD Region Coding/Lock
From Paperhouse:
I live in England. Most video recorders here will play back NTSC tapes and most televisions are NTSC compatible. My own video recorder will play back NTSC, all variations of PAL and SECAM; and will record in PAL or SECAM. My TV has a multi standard PAL/SECAM/Cable tuner. Multi region DVD players and recorders are widely available here. The various standards are not so much of a problem here as they seem to be in the US. Send me any tape or DVD and I'll be able to watch it!

FROM THE MAILBOX
From SJ:
I have a new home theater set up helped my many of your magazines....I have a Sony DVP-NS755V and my question is in regard to multi-channel SACD. I just purchased several multi-channel SACD's and find that one....Pink Floyd plays in all 5 channels.......another one..Andrea Bocelli only plays on the two front and two rear...not the center speaker. When they say multichannel can they mean only 4 speakers or is something hooked up wrong? The Bocelli CD says multi-channel. I would think that if its not 5.1 why bother....I mean stereo is multi-channel if you think about it. I just need to know if this is normal on some multi-channel SACD's

From Your Guide:
It all depends on how the recording engineer mixed the SACD (guide note: 2, 3, 4, or 5 channel) -- the liner notes (on the SACD package) should have some notation on this.

A Special Reminder: Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses. If you encounter any broken links in my articles or listings, just bring it to my attention so I can correct the address or delete it from the site if it has expired and can no longer be accessed.
