HDTV Update: FOX Finally Joins In
In a previous 2002 article, "Fox Turns Chicken On HDTV", I commented on the FOX television network's lack of commitment to HDTV broadcasting, although its major competitors, ABC, CBS, and NBC were moving ahead. Now, it seems that FOX, faced with a decided technical disadvantage, has finally had a change of heart. Check out my update and perspective on this issue...

Home Theater Problem
From TAMERICA1:
I just purchased a Panasonic SC-HT700 surround sound system. The problem I'm having is that I'm getting a radio signal coming out of my subwoofer when I'm watching a movie, etc.. This is very annoying. Anybody know what causes this?
One thing strange about this system is that all the speaker connections connect to the subwoofer.

FROM THE MAILBOX
From J:
Thank-you for your very informative answer to this question (Where Is The 8mm/VHS Adpater?)! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's been searching for this nonexistent device. I'm at a loss, however, as my 8 mm video camera broke so I cannot just plug it in to view my tapes...and I just purchased a video camera that takes VHS-C tapes so I don't want to run out and buy another camera! I assume that there are services who will transfer 8 mm to VHS...am I correct? If not, then I've managed to lose several years worth of memories of my children growing up--unless I buy a second camera...say it isn't so! Please!
From Your Guide:
Any video duplication or editing service in your town can transfer your 8mm videos to either VHS or DVD-R, just check in the phone book.
Frankly, you should have bought a HI8 camcorder to replace your old 8mm camcorder as it would still be able to play your 8mm tapes -- in addition, your new VHS-C can't record as good a quality video as your old 8mm camcorder....if you look close you will notice the color and edge bleeding on your VHS-C, especially at the SLP/EP speed is more pronounced that on 8mm (and the tapes are shorter for VHS-C).

A Special Reminder: Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses. If you encounter any broken links in my articles or listings, just bring it to my attention so I can correct the address or delete it from the site if it has expired and can no longer be accessed.
