PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Panasonic DVD-S35S DVD Player
If you've been putting off buying a DVD player because you don't think you can afford one, now may be the time to reconsider. The Panasonic DVD-S35S budget DVD player packs in a lot features, including the ability to play both DVD-R and DVD-RAM discs. Also, you can play your MP3 or WMA CDs and read JPEG photo files. To top it off, the S35S even has progressive scan video output. Granted, this is not a top-of-line reference player, but the S35S delivers great overall performance for the price. The bottom line? A cool $99!

From WTYOW:
I have seen a few DLP projectors and very impressed by them. Is DLP the next trend in HT projectors? IS it going to replace LCD? Should I go for a plasma TV or a DLP projector as my interest is in watching DVDs?

FROM THE MAILBOX
From SJ:
I just had a quick question about the (DVD) region codes. There is a DVD that I desperately want to get because I'm sure that it will never be sold in the U.S. Unfortunately, it's in Code 2. Someone told me that DVD-ROM's can play all the coutry codes. I was wondering if that was true, because I don't have the money to buy a brand new DVD player. Thanks for any tips! I really appreciate it, and I have lots of friends that need the same info as me.

From Your Guide:
If you bought your PC in the U.S. the DVD-Rom player is set to region one. You need to check your DVD-Rom software to see if it will allow you to change regions. However, you may only be able to change it a limitedn amount of times before it locks up to a specific region. In addition, European region 2 discs are also in the PAL format and you may also need to designate this in your software as well.

A Special Reminder: Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses.
