Harman Kardon AVR-525 AV Receiver
This unit is equipped with DD-EX and DTS-ES 6.1-channel decoding, Harman Kardon's own Logic 7, and 7-channel direct inputs. In addition, this unit has wideband, component video switching, HDCD and MP3 decoding, Dolby Pro Logic II, VMAx, and enough inputs and outputs for any expansion needs. AV Configuration Dilemma
From Sidney1q:
I have a configuration dilemna that requires the wand of a audio/video wizard.I have a Sanyo TV that does not have a composite input jack.I am trying to hook up my DVD-R,VCR, and cable box through a 4 way RF modulator.I ran audio/video out cables from DVD-R, VCR and cable box to A/V inputs on modulator. I ran cable from wall to "cable in" on cable box. I ran a cable "TO TV/VCR" on cable box to "antenna in" on modulator. Finally, I ran a cable from "TO TV" on modulator to coaxial connector on TV. VCR and cable work fine. I can only play movies on DVD-R. However, when I attempt to record by engaging record button,"ERROR" flashes on LCD. DVD-R is a Cyberhome CH-DVR 1500.What am I doing wrong? Please advise.

FROM THE MAILBOX
From Barry:
I'm out looking to replace my Marantz 9600 which has quite working on the main system, the remote system is still working. After getting a couple of repair estimates I decided to look into purchasing a new system. My remote system runs through a Bolton system that operates 11 speakers, the other, the main system speakers are operated in a family room with the big screen,VCR, 2 tape decks, CD, and record player (no DVD recorder or player yet). I'm looking at A Marantz 7300ose, and 8300, and the Denon AVR 3803. I looked at your review on the Marantz 7300ose but couldn't find anything on the Denon 3803. Your review was excellent and gave a dummy like me a good insight. My R&R time is mostly listening to music through 6 speakers in the family room. In your opinion ,which I respect ,offers the most bang for the buck. I will treat your opinions in confidence in choosing the product. I want to thank you in advance for your insight and help you provide.
From Your Guide:
The Denon would also be an excellent option as well -- here are some actual user reviews (61 in total):
