FROM THE MAILBOX
From Patrick:
I read your webpages rating 27-inch flat-tube tvs, as well as the "Trends" article on the subject. I found them informative. But there is a brand I have had difficulty finding information on. I wonder if you can help me. SAM'S Club warehouse stores sell a 27-inch flat-tube tv labeled an "AKAI" [model CFT-2790] that sells for $400. It has a lot of extras, has a handsome modern cabinet, and a great picture. Have you heard of it? Anything you can tell me about it or the company? For value, it seems to me that the AKAI beats all of your "Top Five" 27-inch flat-tube sets hands down. (AKAI also makes a 20-inch version that is much the same.)
From Your Guide:
Akai used to be a major maker of audio tape equipment and stereo receivers many years ago, but has retreated out of the U.S. market, except for select products through discount retailers. I am familiar with the Akai 27" TV, you are not the first one that has mentioned this set to me -- it is a great value for the money, but is not widely distributed in the mainstream U.S. market except through Sams Club, Wal Mart.... Service support is also limited in the U.S. I will check out the set further inclusion in a future update of the 27" list.

FINAL WORDS

Although I update this site regularly, sometimes I miss broken links, this is especially a concern as old product listings expire and new ones have different link addresses. If you encounter any broken links in my articles or listings, just bring it to my attention so I can correct the address or delete it from the site if it has expired and can no longer be accessed.

Lastly, I would like your feedback on this Weekly Site Update Page. If you have any comments, either positve or negative, just let me know.
