PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Sharp LC-37HV4U 37-inch LCD Television
Up until recently, LCD TVs have been relatively small, in terms of screen size, but with the popularity of large screen Plasma flat panel sets, the race is now on to make larger LCD Television alternatives. A good example is the Sharp LC-37HV4U. This unit has a 37-inch 16x9 LCD TFT screen, with 800:1 contrast ratio, a native pixel resolution of 1366x768 (which allows HDTV display), and a 170 degree viewing angle. In addition, its two NTSC tuners and all connectors are housed in a separate box.

Need Help With The Finish
From TIMOTE1:
I am about 80% there with my HT. So far Denon 3803, Front Polk R50, Center Polk Csi-30, Surrounds Polk Fxi-50's. Sub woofer SVS 25-31Pci. The funds are dwindling fast. Need recommendations on the following. Should I stay with 5.1 or purchase rear center for 6.1 or all the way with rear surrounds for 7.1. Need DVD player, very interested in new tech SACD and/or DVD A, can't break the bank so under $500. Lastly, what cables do I need to hook TV (Sony WEGA 36"), Comcast Digital Cable Box (some channels digital, some analog), and the DVD player all into the 3803?
Any recommendations on speaker cable?

FROM THE MAILBOX
From K and K:
Please help us. We are at a loss at what to do. I have a Yamaha Clavinova Digital Piano CLP-170 on which I record hymns into its internal memory. I then transfer the songs to my PC and from there make CD's. My husband sings well and we desire to make a CD of his singing and my playing together. The piano is not capable of recording his singing with my playing. I saw on your website a CD recorder with a microphone input and wondered if that was the answer to our dilemma. Will we be able to connect the piano and microphone to the same unit and record our performance together? There are two on your website that look favorable: JVC XL-R5020BK (microphone input available) and Yamaha CDR-HD1000 (does it have a microphone input?) Is there one better that you recommend? We would like to stay in the $500.00 or less range. We are open to any suggestions and all advice that you can give us. Thank you very much for your time.
From Your Guide:
The JVC XL-R5020BK has a microphone input with pitch control -- so this may work for you. As long as your Clavinova can output an audio signal through a standard audio connection and not a MIDI connection, you should be fine.
However, if you already have a CD burner in your PC -- all you may need is an audio mixer -- you would connect the output of your clavinova (as long as it is a standard audio output and not a MIDI output) and the microphone to the mixer -- this would enable you balance the sound between the two -- and then use a single output from the mixer to your PC (with any appropriate cable adapters that you might need) and then copy the results to a CD. Radio Shack sells a variety of mixers, or you can check a local guitar or musical intrument shop.
