Question: Do All Plasma Televisions Have Tuners?
Answer: Almost all Plasma televisions now come with onboard television tuners, including both analog NTSC and digital ATSC (HDTV over-the-air tuner). In addition, some Plasma televisions also come with a QAM tuner. A QAM tuner allows the reception of unscrambled HD-Cable signals (usually cable feeds of local HD television stations).

However, some Plasma televisions are actually classified as monitors and require outboard tuners to receive broadcast, satellite, or cable television signals. When shopping for a Plasma television, make sure you ask your dealer what is required for the units you are considering to receive either standard or HDTV signals.
