Guide Review - Accell UltraAV HDMI 1.3 4x4 Matrix Audio/Video Switch
Using a variety of HDMI sources, including a Panasonic DMP-BD60 (on review loan from Panasonic) and OPPO Digital BDP-83 Blu-ray Disc players, and an OPPO Digital DV-980H Upscaling DVD player, as well as a variety of HDMI cable lengths (3ft to 30ft), I found that both the HDMI handshake and signal integrity was not an issue. When comparing direct connection of the HDMI components to the HDTVs used ( Westinghouse LVM-37w3 1080p LCD Monitor and Samsung LN-R238W 720p LCD TV ) vs HDMI signals going through the switch before going to the HDTVs used, the switch did not introduce any visible artifacts or changes in the source signal quality.
The Accell 4x4 HDMI switch is a great solution for those that have more than one HDMI equipped HDTV in several locations, or a video projector and HDTV in the same room. This switcher is also very practical for professional use, such as Sport Bars/Restaurants, Educational settings, Exhibits, and Retailer display environments, and is probably more affordable for these applications than for home use.
However, if you are looking a way to centralize all of your HDMI sources and use them with multiple HDTVs and/or Video projectors, the Accell UltraAV™ HDMI 1.3 4x4 Matrix Audio/Video Switch may be just the ticket.
